Life Soundtrack

Taking for grated that our lives are all movies and we have very little control over their production, except we get to choose our soundtracks. I completely ripped off this idea. But how could I not, it's just that cool.

I remember a time...

I am the man from the human choke hold
I am the product of your restraint
I watched the years pass by me
Never once did I complain
Never once did I say no
Now I watch myself explode
My body is scarred by age
Now you get to taste my rage

From the wreckage of humiliation
I got my self respect
I pulled myself together
What the hell did you expect
You should see the pain I go through
When I see myself I see you
Everything that you did I do
When I see myself I see you

I take my fear, my humiliation,
I crush
My fist
I open my hand
I've got a diamond
My diamond is Rage
I've got diamonds in my eyes
Rage

I'm just like you
My flesh isn´t my flesh
My blood isn´t my blood
I´m just like you

Old Friends

Old friends, old friends,
Sat on their park bench like bookends
A newspaper blown through the grass
Falls on the round toes
of the high shoes of the old friends

Old friends, winter companions, the old men
Lost in their overcoats, waiting for the sun
The sounds of the city sifting through trees
Settles like dust on the shoulders of the old friends

Can you imagine us years from today,
Sharing a park bench quietly
How terribly strange to be seventy

Old friends, memory brushes the same years,
Silently sharing the same fears

Whose life have you touched?
Think really hard.
Maybe you didn't even know it.
